Our commitments, in plain terms

These are part of these Terms and win over anything below that seems to say otherwise.

  1. Your data is never sold, rented, shared for marketing, or used to train AI models.
  2. Connections are read-only. Nothing posts to your books without your approval.
  3. Each company's data is isolated. Every action is recorded in an append-only audit log. Tamper-evident protection (hash chaining and a separate owner role) is in progress.
  4. You can ask us to export or delete all of your data at any time.
  5. We never use your data to train AI models. We use our AI provider's commercial API, which by default does not use API data to train models. We are confirming that against our signed terms.
  6. Trued supports accountants. It doesn't give tax, legal, or audit opinions, and a person always signs off.

1. What these Terms cover

1.1 These Terms apply to our website, the early-access waitlist, and the Trued service, including early access ("the Service"). By using the Service you agree to them.

1.2 Early-access customers may also accept a separate agreement. If it conflicts with these Terms, that agreement controls. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.

1.3 The Service is for businesses and their finance teams. You must be at least 18 and authorized to bind your company.

2. Accounts and access

2.1 Keep your login secure and tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you add to it.

2.2 You connect your systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp, Stripe, and others) read-only, and you can disconnect any of them at any time. Their own terms govern your use of them, and we aren't responsible for those services.

3. Your data and our promises

3.1 You own your data: the records, contracts and instructions you connect or upload, and the outputs we produce from them ("Customer Data").

3.2 You give us permission to use Customer Data only to provide the Service to you. We don't sell it, rent it, share it for marketing, or use it to train AI models. We don't use it to improve the Service for others.

3.3 Nothing posts to your books without your approval. Anything that would change them is a draft until a person at your company approves it.

3.4 You can ask us to export or delete all of your data at any time, by emailing us. Full cryptographic deletion, including backups, is in progress. Copies may also exist in backups, if backups are enabled, until they age out.

3.5 You promise you have the right to give us the data you connect or upload, including personal information about your own customers, vendors and employees that appears in it.

4. AI output, and a person signs off

4.1 Trued supports accountants. It doesn't give tax, legal, or audit opinions, and it isn't a CPA firm, law firm or auditor. A person at your company always reviews and signs off.

4.2 The Service uses AI. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Check it, and don't treat it as professional advice. You are responsible for your own judgment, filings and books.

5. Using the Service

You agree not to: break the law or others' rights with the Service; upload data you don't have the right to use; try to access another company's data or get around security or access limits; probe, scan or test the Service's security without permission; scrape it or overload it; reverse-engineer it; or use the Service or its output to build a competing product or to train AI models.

6. Ownership

6.1 We own the Service, including its software, design and branding, and give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it while these Terms apply.

6.2 You own Customer Data and outputs. We get no rights to them except what's needed to provide the Service to you.

6.3 If you give us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything, under a non-exclusive license that doesn't cover Customer Data.

7. Fees

Early access is free, and nothing converts to a paid plan automatically. If we introduce fees later, we'll tell you in advance and you choose whether to continue.

8. Changes, suspension and ending

8.1 The Service is evolving. Features may change or be removed.

8.2 You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your data. We can suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or put the Service or others at risk.

8.3 When access ends, you can still ask us to export and delete your data under section 3.4.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.

10. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, incidental or punitive damages, or lost profits, even if told they were possible. These limits don't apply to anything the law doesn't allow us to limit.

11. Changes to these Terms; contact

We may update these Terms and will update the date at the top. We'll email you before a material change; if you don't agree, stop using the Service. Contact: logan.abele@usetrued.com.
